Rural Chartered Surveyor

We are seeking to appoint a qualified Rural Chartered Surveyor to join our rural team based in Framlingham. The role will cover all aspects of rural property and involve primarily valuation and compulsory purchase compensation work.

The successful candidate will be RICS qualified (and ideally CAAV) with demonstrable relevant experience particularly relating to rural business advice, landlord and tenant matters, valuation, planning and utilities.


Apprentice Rural Surveyor

We are looking to recruit an apprentice to assist our Rural Surveying team.  The apprenticeship starts in September with training at Harper Adams University, Shropshire, during block teaching weeks on campus.  You will undertake a 5 year apprenticeship and will be supported with training in the workplace to achieve a BSc (Hones) degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM).  You will also work towards your APC (the Assessment of Professional Competence) which is the final assessment of your apprenticeship and leads to the MRICS qualification (Chartered Surveyor).

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience as follows:

  • Assisting our rural surveyors in all aspects of rural property management
  • Assisting with the buying and selling of land
  • Helping with compulsory acquisition of land acting on behalf of landowners
  • Develop and manage relationships with clients
  • Attending client meetings
  • Preparing client communications and reports
  • Report writing and valuations
  • Site inspections
  • Completion of maps
  • Negotiation and engagement with stakeholders

Start date: 7th September 2026

Salary: Competitive - exceeding the minimum of the apprentice wage in Year 1 and increasing on at least an annual basis dependent on aptitude and experience.

Requirements: GCSE English (Grade A*-C or 9-4) and Maths (Grade 9-4); 3 A levels (Grade C or above)
